My first holiday in Greece
For my first holiday in greece, I went in 2002 and travelled with 5 friends. We visited the loverly island of Kefalonia for 10 days and it was still one of my most enjoyable experiences ever.
Kefalonia has a lot to offer anyone. If you are a couple, a family or even a group of friends there is something for everyone. There are lots of water sports to do off all of the sublime beaches, and the bars and restraunts are great ways to spend an hour or 2 relaxing. The nightlife revolves around lively bars playing music and doing karaoke and if that is not your thing, you can also find live performances from a wide range of entertainers such as country music, jazz, hypnotists and magicians.
The hotel I stayed in was rated at 4 stars but I promise this should have been a 5 star. The island is so welcoming to everyone and the locals are always in good spirit. In most places we visited we ended up getting a free shot of local brandy after our brief stay and everyone was open and welcoming.
If you are considering visiting a greek island, or if you are even tempted at a greek island holiday, I would highly recommend looking at Kefalonia. I hope to upload some photo’s from my visit there and intend on going back in 2010 – wether this is with friends or alone I know i will enjoy it!
